I was the proud inheritor of my childhood Osterizer Blender and wanted nothing more than to keep that beat up thing forever. I worked against myself very hard to find a new blender to match up to it when the pitcher finally broke. The reviews here were the clincher. I ordered mine about a month ago and now I'm wondering why it took me so long to buy this! It is so much better than i thought a blender could be (the blender being the most used appliance in my kitchen...next to the teapot). Today I made hummous in less than 3 minutes! I can put a whole tray of ice in with a protein shake and it doesnt even balk! I find excuses to use it just because it works so well. One of the best features of this model is the wide base...it always sits perfectly where it should. No leaking from the gasket, simple to clean and can blend anything! YAY for a fantastic blender. If i had to point out a flaw though, i would say the lid is too tight. But hey, it will never leak and it forces me to use the handy removable center in the top to add ingredients.

A few months ago, I started looking for a blender. It seemed like there were hundreds of them. Price wasn't the main concern, as I would gladly pay a premium price for a premium product. My main issues were that it would perform all the standard blending tasks with ease, make a great milkshake, blend eggs to make a light "Waffle House" style omlette, and most importantly (for my friends who crave Margaritas), kill ice cubes with a vengeance. When I happened upon this Black and Decker model, I was taken by the positive reviews, yet skeptical of it's ... price. Never the less, I figured that if the reviewers were making an honest effort, I couldn't justify spending three or more times as much on a machine that would do no better. I bought one. When it arrived, I saw that B&D was so proud of it that they offered a 30 day no questions asked refund if you don't think it's the best blender/ice crusher ever. It's a big blender. It has a large capacity thick glass jar, a unique knife arrangement, lots of power, a soft shatterproof top that seals tightly (with a measuring cap built in), plenty of speeds to select, and it does the job as advertised. If you need a killer blender, buy this one. Pack it with ice, and be amazed.

I have had this blender for almost two years now and have had no problems. It is plenty powerful for mixing anything you need and the rubber feet keep it still. I bought this blender because it had a glass jar instead of a plastic one which can stain over time. Mine has never leaked and the top fits nice and tight. I do wish it had a longer cord though.
